The match started with an early own goal by Spanish captain Irene Paredes in the 6th minute. Gabi Portilho extended Brazil's lead with a powerful strike in the 45+4 minute just before halftime. In the second half, Adriana scored with a header in the 72nd minute, and Kerolin sealed the victory with a one-on-one finish in the 90+1 minute.
